Bathtime bubbles

We've started bathing B and K in the bathtub together a month or so ago, and it goes really well. K loves splashing and B is always up for pouring water over her (if he can). K gets all washed first, and as I'm drying her and getting her changed into her jammies, A washes B.

Well, last night I have K all done and we're sitting there watching B get out of the tub. He walks over to where we are and takes his towel off, and then very quickly grabs one of A's glasses cloths and puts it to his butt like he's about to wipe. We're puzzled as to what's going on, when all of the sudden we hear B let out these very loud toots. He has placed the cloth on his butt, though, so that the toots hit it. A and I didn't know what to say, but as soon as B started laughing after he did this, we started bellowing with laughter. It was so funny to see him realize how funny what he did was, and personally, it was funny to see it happen with A's glasses cloth! I'm glad it wasn't something of mine! ;)

This little piggy...

A and I have been doing "this little piggy" with B a lot lately, and he's gotten to liking it so much that he does it to himself. He makes up his own words, and then when he gets to his baby toe, he'll tickle himself and laugh like crazy. It always has to be done on both feet, too, and if K's around, I have to do it to her (God forbid B actually touch her himself!).

B also likes making a buzzing noise like a B and swirly his hand around (finger pointed out), and tickles himself at the end. I love how silly he is and how much he enjoys laughing and having a good time.

Happy 7 Months to K

Baby girl is 7 months today. She is such a wonderful addition to our family. Her personality is really starting to show lately; she laughs all. day. long. Her favorite things right now are:
  • Our dog, Lilly, getting near her
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Holding onto spoons
  • Listening to music while jumping in her doorway jumper
  • Baths with her brother
She sits up like a champ (and has since she was 5 months!), and is really good at catching herself if she's going to fall. She still hates being on her tummy, so we haven't made a lot of progress with crawling (it will happen soon enough).

She's in a size 4 Huggies Little Movers diaper, and is in 6 or 9 month clothes (9 for her bottom half!). Her eczema is still bad and needs to be treated daily. Around her mouth is the worst, and I'm constantly putting cortisone cream with aquaphor on top of it, but it's a losing battle. Her hair is getting lighter, and is now a dirty blonde/light brown, and her eyes are blue with gold in them around the center.

Her 1st birthday is going to be here before we know it! Waaaahhh! We'll always have the million photos that we take of her to cherish, though :)

Naptime Wonders

B's been in his toddler bed for over a month now, but the last few days he's been getting out of it and wandering around his room. Most of his naptime is spent laying on the carpeted-floor, right in front of his bedroom door (that is locked from the outside, btw). Am I too old to remember the excitement of sleeping on the floor during slumber parties, relishing the coziness of my sleeping bag and belly full of ice cream? B has neither the comfy sleepy bag nor the ice cream before his nap each day, so why would he want to sleep on the hard floor? My mom even bought him Curious George sheets for his bed, for crying out loud!

As crazy as I find his new naptime adventures, I still get a squeezemystomachhappiness when I think about having to go into his room and tell him to get back in bed, and he is standing there with his glow worm pressed against his chest and mittens that he's found in his dresser on his little hands. I race excitedly downstairs to tell/call my husband, and we smile and try and commit this memory to our minds, so we don't forget B's sweet idiosyncrasies that we love more than anything in the world.

I need to start bringing my camera with me everywhere, so I could have taken a picture of those stinkin' mittens on his little hands, eyes looking so proud to have put them on himself.
